CE MARKING OF POLYMER DISTILLED BITUMEN MEMBRANES
The production, sale and distribution of all building materials is subject to ever-evolving statutory requirements. Currently, the main legal instrument governing the European construction industry is the Construction Products Regulation CPR (EU) 305/2011, which replaced the Construction Products Directive CPD 89/106/EEC with effect from 1st July 2013.
Only where materials meet the requirements of the CPR Regulation and relevant Harmonized Technical Standards can they carry CE markingand be released onto the market in European Economic Area countries (even where they are produced outside the European Union).
The objective of these regulations is to ensure building quality and safety, particularly when it comes to keeping workers, consumers and the environment safe from harm, through construction product compliance with the minimum set requirements, which are applicable to all countries in the European Economic Area.
UNI EN ISO 9001: 2015 AND UNI EN ISO 14001: 2015 CERTIFICATIONS
Polyglass has obtained three Certifications of Excellence for Quality, Safety and Environment. The company applies a Quality Management System compliant with ISO 9001, an Environmental Management System compliant with ISO 14001 and a Safety Management System compliant with ISO 45001.
UNI EN ISO 9001:2015
ISO 9001 certification is a standard that certifies the quality of the company and contains the requirements for designing, implementing and maintaining a quality system over time.

EUROPEAN CERTIFICATIONS
ATG technical approvals, issued by the Belgian authority UBAtc, aim to provide the Belgian building industry with assurance that the construction product in which the product is used is fit for its intended purpose, complies with Belgian legislation, and can be installed, incorporated or assembled in accordance with the state of the art without any undue risk.
The British Board of Agrément is the British body issuing certificates for construction products and systems and providing inspection services in support of British designers.
It is the leading body globally for inspection services, compliance checking and certification in various sectors and provides guidelines for the management of quality, environment, safety, health and social responsibility systems and processes.
Polyglass is a member of GBC Italia. Polyglass products can contribute to obtaining credits for LEED V4 certification of buildings.
Italy's building technologies institute, ITC, carries out research in the building industry, focusing above all on production technologies and industrialization of the building process.
KOMO
is an independent certification authority based in the Netherlands.
Products and processes bearing the KOMO quality mark meet the construction
industry's quality and safety laws and regulations, in both the private
residential/commercial and public sectors (BU), as well as in earthworks,
road and hydraulic engineering works (GWW).
The industrial and technical research foundation SINTEF (Stiftelsen for Industriell og Teknisk Forskning) is an independent Norwegian research institute founded in 1950 for the purpose of conducting research projects for private individuals and public bodies.
The UEAtc (Union Européenne pour l'Agrément technique dans la construction) is an organization established in 1960 for the purpose of ensuring that Agrément certificates issued by the various members are recognized as equivalent across the different European countries. The approval, regardless of which member issues it, means that the materials, products or equipment have passed a technical assessment of their fitness for purpose.
INTERNATIONAL CERTIFICATIONS
Agrément
South Africa is an independent organization that evaluates the fitness for
purpose of a non-standardized building, a product or a construction system,
assessed based on performance criteria.
Branz Appraisal is a certification that is valid in the New Zealand market and attests to the compliance of a construction product or system with building code performance requirements.
Polyglass is a member of GBC USA. Polyglass products can contribute to obtaining credits for LEED certification of buildings.
This is an assessment based on the standards and technical requirements of the Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON) that all exporters and producers of regulated goods are required to submit to in order to prevent unsafe or poor-quality products being imported into Nigeria.
The
Environmental Product Declarations (EPD) are just another mark of the
transparency espoused by Polyglass SpA and the Mapei Group in their dealings
with the market to provide information on the environmental performance of
their products and services, according to relevant categories of parameters and
following internationally standardized guidelines.
FM Global is one of the global insurance companies, based in the US. Its scope also extends to the insurance of industrial buildings. At the same time, FM Global is a test laboratory, testing building elements, buildings and systems to establish the potential for danger involved in their use.
PARTNERSHIP
PRIMI is a group representing Italy's waterproofing membrane manufacturers, covering both bitumen (Polymer distilled Bitumen Membranes) and synthetic (Polymer Sheet technology) systems.
SITEB is a non-profit association that brings together the main operators in the road and waterproofing membranes sectors. It brings together and aggregates about 200 Associates, including companies, public administrations, organizations, laboratories and service providers, institutions and freelancers who deal with roads and waterproofing.
ASSIMP, founded in 2002, is an important interlocutor for those who work in the field of waterproofing. The institution acts as a spokesperson for small, medium and large specialist companies operating in this sector, enhancing their work.
PATENTS
REOXTHENE is the revolutionary technology developed by our R&D laboratories, protected by an international patent, ensuring that Polyglass is the sole supplier to operators in the industry. Thanks to an innovative approach that revolutionises traditional bitumen compound production and mixing techniques, we have overcome current technological limits in terms of weight/thickness ratio.
ADESO technology is a revolutionary concept in the production of self-adhesive dual-compound membranes, using an APP, SBS or TPO blend on the top side exposed to the elements, and a highly self-adhesive blend on the underside of the reinforcing carrier.
Patented with ADESO technology, SEALLap is an exclusive industrial treatment applied to produce self-adhesive lap selvedges.
A patented production process for the production of mineral-surfaced membranes with side and end laps (selvedges) free of granules.
Polyglass membranes are produced with NAT® technology, designed to control polymer matrix ageing and, consequently, result in improved longevity of the waterproofing.
Revolutionary polyethylene film that is applied to the underside of the bitumen membrane and offers the advantage of easy torch application (with propane gas savings in the order of 30-40%) and greater adhesion at side and end laps.
